A short story of pre-visualization.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
Aggro-

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
According to the Urban Dictionary this is

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
a term that has been used for decades by surfers and other water-headed types to describe someone who is overly and unnecessarily aggressive, competitive, or asinine whilst in the water. prolonged exposure to the aggro can ruin even the best session, so "deal" with them immediately (read: choke with your leash then return to your state of zen-like calm once they are dead)

<div style="color: #454545; font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 14px;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
I like the image of chilled out surfers

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
choking

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
aggressive surfers with their leash

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
and then

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 12px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
calmly going back to a zen state with the waves…

Post Dogmatist rule #23

Shut up and Paint.

If you find yourself unable to paint. Read the Manifesto below and take your dogma for a walk.

POST-DOGMATIST MANIFESTO

(rough draft recorded by Patrick O'Kelly)

WE BELIEVE IN THE TRUE DOGMA,

AN UNLEASHED DOGMA,

ONE THAT WE ARE FREE OF CARING FOR.

A DOGMA THAT BARKS FEROCIOUSLY AT INTRUDING DOGMAS AND "ISMS" BUT IS ALSO TAME ENOUGH TO BE RIDDEN BY A CHILD.

A HOUSE BROKEN DOGMA.

WE BELIEVE IN A GUARD DOGMA THAT WILL RIP TO THE BONE ALL HISTORIANS AND CRITICS THAT WOULD TRY TO HARM ITS FREEORS.

IT KNOWS ITS PLACE.

IT WILL NOT ENTER IN THE CHURCH OR SCHOOL.

IF OUR FREE OF DOGMA/DOGMA FALLS INTO THE WRONG HANDS AND IS CORRUPTED OR IF SOMEONE TRIES TO DOGMATIZE OUR DOGMA OR IT OTHERWISE BECOMES A THREAT TO THE ARTISTS COMMUNITY, IT SHOULD BE GATHERED UP BY THE DOGMA CATCHERS AND PUT TO SLEEP.( 1987 )
The potential for these deeper-seated interpretations points not only to my interest in tribal art but also references the assemblage of Dada and Surrealism, and the derivative nature of contemporary pop culture.<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"> "

Words are bound by culture.

Numbers and art transcend cultural form.

Sound and light can be described using numbers and when tallied and translated, the result can register as cold, void.

Expressing experience through waveform manipulation is still the simplest and most direct for me.
Why? I'm combining Musing is Free and Art About Town into a single feed and establishing an easier way to update folks on my visual artwork specifically. Over the years, I've started several blogs and need to bring my various feeds into focus.

Delurk Gallery is now a full-time preoccupation that necessitates this change, so Musing is Free and Art About Town will become a single personal point of view blog (musing is free) covering all sorts of creative expression and the new Tumblr feed will be dedicated to studio art, specifically my own.

I'll be interlinking these blogs with each other and with other relevant websites and blogs so please continue to check in to see what's happening and please, don't hesitate to comment!

National Delurking week is January 14-21 so chime in!Musingisfreehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11778544236622828731noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4932576866598909279.post-24918044981003762422012-12-04T14:12:00.001-05:002012-12-04T14:12:43.277-05:00http://myemail.constantcontact.com/December-Gallery-Hop-News-from-the-Downtown-Art-District.html?soid=1101296635754&aid=2oUt4jeHmyMhttp://myemail.constantcontact.com/December-Gallery-Hop-News-from-the-Downtown-Art-District.html?soid=1101296635754&aid=2oUt4jeHmyMMusingisfreehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11778544236622828731noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4932576866598909279.post-360381203313053802012-10-30T21:21:00.001-04:002012-10-30T21:21:56.359-04:00A Freedom Place: Did You Get Your Fear Shot?
